Privacy Policy

Privacy at a Glance

Protecting your personal data is important to us. We process your personal data exclusively in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, in particular the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

You can generally use this website without providing any personal data. Where personal data — such as your name, address, or email address — is collected, this is done on a voluntary basis wherever possible. Your data will not be passed on to third parties without your explicit consent.

Please note that data transmission over the internet can carry security vulnerabilities. Complete protection against access by unauthorised third parties cannot be guaranteed.

Cookies

This website uses so-called cookies — small text files that your browser stores on your device. Cookies do not cause any harm to your device and do not contain malware. They help us to make this website more user-friendly and secure.

Some of the cookies we use are session cookies that are automatically deleted when you close your browser. Others remain on your device and allow us to recognise your browser on your next visit.

You can configure your browser to notify you when cookies are set, to allow cookies only in individual cases, to block cookies for certain situations or entirely, and to automatically delete cookies when you close your browser. Please note that disabling cookies may limit the functionality of this website.

Contact Form

If you send us an enquiry via the contact form, the information you enter — including the contact details you provide — will be stored for the purpose of processing your request and for any follow-up questions. This data will not be passed on to third parties without your consent and will not be used for marketing purposes.

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Google Analytics uses cookies that enable an analysis of your use of this website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is generally transmitted to and stored on a Google server in the United States.

IP Anonymisation

We have enabled IP anonymisation on this website. Your IP address is therefore shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area before being transmitted to the United States. Only in exceptional circumstances will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the United States and shortened there.

Google uses this information on behalf of the website operator to analyse your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity, and to provide other services relating to website and internet use. The IP address transmitted by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be merged with other data held by Google.

Data Processing Agreement

We have entered into a data processing agreement with Google in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR. The use of Google Analytics takes place in full compliance with the requirements of the German data protection authorities.

Browser Plugin to Opt Out of Google Analytics

You can prevent the collection of your data by Google Analytics by downloading and installing the browser add-on available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en

Demographic Features in Google Analytics

This website uses the “Demographic Features” function of Google Analytics. This allows reports to be generated containing information about the age, gender, and interests of website visitors, based on interest-based advertising from Google and visitor data from third-party providers. This data cannot be attributed to any specific individual. You can disable this feature at any time via the ad settings in your Google account, or opt out of data collection by Google Analytics as described in the “Browser Plugin” section above.

Complianz

This website uses Complianz, a privacy suite plugin for WordPress, to collect and record browser- and device-based consents. For this purpose, your IP address is anonymised and stored in our local database. No personally identifiable information is transmitted to the service provider. Further information can be found in the Complianz privacy statement: https://complianz.io/legal/privacy-statement/

Akismet

This website uses Akismet, an anti-spam service. When comments are left on the website, certain information is collected, the extent of which depends on the website operator’s settings. This data typically includes the user’s IP address, user agent, referrer URL, and website URL, as well as information entered directly by the user, such as name, username, email address, and the comment text itself.

SSL Encryption

For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content — such as enquiries you send to us as the website operator — this website uses SSL encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address bar of your browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the padlock icon in your browser bar. When SSL encryption is active, any data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

RenderDiff – Chrome Extension

RenderDiff is a browser extension for Google Chrome provided by us that compares the initial HTML source code of a webpage with its JavaScript-rendered DOM to identify SEO-relevant differences. All data processing happens entirely on the user’s local device.

RenderDiff does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. No usage data, telemetry, or behavioral data is collected. The extension only communicates with the URL of the webpage the user is actively scanning. No data is sent to the developer, third-party services, or analytics platforms. The extension does not require registration, login, or authentication and does not access personal data such as names, email addresses, browsing history, passwords, or form data.

RenderDiff uses the browser’s local storage API (chrome.storage.local) to persist a single user preference: the preferred User-Agent selection (e.g., “Chrome Desktop”, “Googlebot”). This data is stored exclusively on the user’s device and is never transmitted. Scan results exist only in the browser’s working memory during the active session and are discarded when the tab is closed.

The extension requires the following browser permissions, each used exclusively for its stated purpose: access to the active tab to determine the URL to scan, execution of a content script to capture the rendered DOM state, fetching the raw HTML source code of the scanned webpage, writing scan results to the clipboard, saving report files to the Downloads folder, and temporary modification of the User-Agent header during a scan.

The extension makes exactly one network request per scan: an HTTP GET request to the URL of the webpage being scanned. This request does not include cookies, session tokens, or authentication credentials, simulates a search engine crawler request, and is only made when the user actively initiates a scan. No data from the scan result is transmitted to any server.

The export functions (Copy to Clipboard, JSON, CSV, PDF) process data entirely on the user’s local device. No data is uploaded to any external server during export. RenderDiff does not integrate with, transmit data to, or receive data from any third-party services, APIs, advertising networks, or analytics platforms.

Right to Access, Erasure, and Restriction

You have the right at any time and free of charge to obtain information about the personal data stored about you — including its origin, recipients, and the purpose of processing — as well as the right to rectification, restriction of processing, or erasure of this data. For such requests, or for any further questions regarding personal data, please contact us using the address provided in the legal notice.

Objection to Marketing Emails

The use of contact details published in connection with our legal notice obligation for the purpose of sending unsolicited advertising or informational materials is hereby expressly prohibited. We reserve the right to take legal action in the event of unsolicited promotional communications, such as spam emails.
